items purchased through Apple Pay was returned in one of the retail store and refund was executed which reflects in Apple Pay which on 16th April 2024 and yet to reflect into bank account. How long will it take to reflect. Apple can’t just eat the money isn’t it?
If the original payment/purchase used Apple Cash, the refund is returned to Apple Cash. If the original payment/purchase was made using another credit or debit card, refund will be transferred there.

Apple is not a bank. It cannot receive funds from a return/refund from a merchant. Refunds are handled outside of Apple Pay. When a merchant accepts a return and refunds the transaction, funds are sent from the merchants bank to the bank that issued the card used for payment.
When you say the refund reflects in Apple Pay, where exactly are you looking?
In wallet it shows the refunded amount but not in my bank statement till date it has reflected
