why doesn't Mail trash emails from blocked senders?

Nothing is stopping the User ( you ) from bypassing the Trash ( Bin ) and outright Deleting the Junk

This seems like the kind of thing that Mail should be able to handle -- to automatically send email from blocked senders to the Trash folder. So, why doesn't it?

Running Sonoma 14.5 on a Mac Studio.

The best you can do here is make changes to your Settings and compare your results...

Not sure why you are looking at Junk to begin with...(?)

Blocking never prevents them coming. Will only go to junk folder no matter what settings are used.
