Mac devices and using Continuity Cam

so I just bought a Mac. everything is working perfectly fine until I want to use continuity cam. for some reason this only works wired (and this isn't a bug but a feature, who knew.)

so what I've heard on the phone with apple is the following:

"due to SECURITY REASONS any and all Mac computers without a built in camera do NOT allow camera streaming over bluetooth or wifi."

this hasn't been disclosed within the user manual of my Mac mini M1.....

what does work is if you plug in a separate camera (e.g. Logitech camera) then and ONLY THEN your phone will work with continuity cam wirelessly....

my question is: if apple is so secure, then why make this such a big deal. you are only able to use your camera from your iPhone. right?

aaaaaand as of todays standards on Mac,iphone and iPad if you use a camera it shows a green dot anyways...

so what is the big deal?

(sorry had to let out my frustration in this post.... apple please fix your user manual and please put this information above in there so I know why something does not work)
