SIM card doesn’t read on my iPhone

Hello, can you help us, I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max 256 GB that does not read the sim, the sim does not work, it indicates no service.

It’s been going on for over a week now.  Around the same time it started rebooting on it’s own, for no apparent reason (not overheating or anything) I get service for maybe 30 seconds when I turn on my phone and then it’s gone.   The fact that I get some service when I boot means that the phone can stil read/detect my SIM card. So hopefully not a hardware problem ? I tried resetting network settings. But to no avail.  No idea what to do regarding the SIM or the unwanted reboot  Not having any service is really problematic. I can’t be reached or reach anyone when I’m not near a place with wi-fi  When I’m outside, my phone is now just a glorified iPod.
