Is there a limit to the number of songs that can be put on an iPad Pro?

I have had nearly 15,000 songs on my iPad Pro for several months - and I use it as the music server in my car, which up until recently has worked very well. However, I recently added two thousand additional songs (now totalling more than 17,000) and that seems to have caused several artists and albums that were all present before, to disappear.

The Apple Music application on my computer appears to handle this large number of songs with no problem.

On the iPad Pro, some artists still appear in the "Artist" list, yet only their newer albums appear and the older albums are gone.

Finally, the iPad Pro (3rd gen) has a capacity of 1TB and my music library is taking up about 70% of that. For the purpose of better audio quality, nearly all my music files are AIFF files- all converted from CDs, using the Apple Music application on the computer. There is no purchased music.
