Can’t connect for playback

Hi, I am having trouble playing shows and movies. This is using app on smart TV. I can get in and browse but whenever i click on a show it says can’t connect for playback. Troubleshooting doesn’t help. I’ve uninstalled the app and reinstalled and the same problem is occurring. Thanks!

Check Apple’s System Status for possibly known outages that may involve streaming services.
Try checking if the smart TV has a newer version (Android TV) system software available. Install if you can.
Try a cold restart of the TV. Use a software on-device restart option, else disconnect from power for a short while.
Verify that you use a normal DNS server setting. ‘Auto’ on your device would copy the setting from your router. ‘Auto’ on your router would copy it from your ISP. Other custom DNS might have entries or omissions that may not be valid for the servers that Apple uses.
