Is it possible to shorten songs in an Apple Music playlist?

I have spend hours trying to find a way to shorten a song in a playlist in Apple Music. (Just subscribed a week ago). Someone said right click a song and go to "Get Info". I do not get "Get Info" when I right click on a song.

Another site says you can't do it on Apple Music. Some sites refer to something called " Motion" which I can't find anywhere and it refers to art work from what I can see.

I had no trouble doing this in iTunes! Very maddening.

Also I have not found a way to copy my iTunes library and playlists from a previous IBM laptop to a newer Dell. Many hours trying that too. I have about 30 hours of music (mostly taken from CDs) and about 50 playlists in iTunes on that older computer.

It all depends on what you mean by "shorten". If you mean you want to change the start and stop points, that's easy. Click on the three dots at the very right of the track listing. Select Get Info then go to the Options tab. You can select the start and stop points in the track. As far as I remember, that's all you've ever been able to do in iTunes/Music.

If you mean you want to actually edit the file, that will depend on the type of file. It's a track that you've bought from the iTunes Store or have ripped from a CD, you can edit it in Garage Band. But if it's a track you downloaded through your Apple Music subscription, I don't believe that's possible.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was still unable to do what I needed and contacted the Geek Squad at Best Buy. The fellow there was able to move all my library of songs into the Apple Music library. He says older Playlists will not transfer, so I will have to create them again.

However I now find that when I click on a song, some other song randomly starts to play! Any solution for that?

He also told me Apple Music does not provide a means of shortening a song, which is a bummer.
