Chrome won’t open PDFs anymore

I used to be able to open PDFs in chrome on my iPad — it was the default action when I clicked on a PDF online. Now, clicking on a pdf opens a download prompt instead. Even when I try to open a pdf from files, it opens chrome, then gives me a download prompt. I can’t actually view the pdf.

whats going on? This worked as recently as a few weeks ago.
