Don’t be fooled by many iPad's seemingly having four speaker grilles. With the sole exception of iPad Pro models that have four speakers, iPad and iPad Air have only two speakers.

Recent models iPad have one speaker at top and bottom - such that what viewed in Landscape orientation, you will have a left/right stereo pair.
