can't backup iPhone to MacBook

Trying to backup iPhone se II to MacBook air. I get message could not back up the iPhone because the backup was corrupt. says delete the backup and try again. There is no backup listed to delete? Help

Connect your iPhone again to the Mac using the cable

Click on the Finder (smiley face) down on the dock

Click on the name of your iPhone on left panel of the Finder window

Wait a minute while data from the iPhone loads onto the Mac


When info is displayed, look for a Manage Backups buttons and click on it

Click to select the backup of the iPhone

Click Delete Backup


Close the windows on the Mac

Disconnnect the cable from the iPhone to the Mac

Shut down and then restart the iPhone

Restart the Mac


Try to backup again
