ATV Home Sharing not showing Ripped music

Ok, So I recently setup home sharing for my ripped music from my older 2014 Mac mini (Running Mojave for iTunes) shared photos worked, but music did not my iPhone (2020 SE) saw the music just fine as did my MacBook. I don't know why I can't see the music on my Apple TV (HD 2015). I tried using different Mac (Running Sonoma), didn't fix it tried other music not fixed. It just says "No music was found in your library. This is my first time doing this but I've done stuff like files sharing from Mac and never encountered a problem like this. Any tips?

The Computers app on the Apple TV box can access a shared library on the home network, i.e. from a networked computer.

To have music content in that library, add the music tracks to the iTunes application on the computer. Then activate Home Sharing (if not already done), and access it with the Computers app on Apple TV, not the Music app! [The Music app on Apple TV is only for online streaming content through Apple’s servers (Apple Music subscription, iTunes Match subscription, purchased iTMS music tracks or albums, or select radio stations).]

In the Computers app, navigate to the Music tab to see the music content from the shared library there.

… but not music. I have included 3 videos

Thanks, that describes it clearly.

Unfortunately, I can’t replicate your issue. When the content is shared, it should be shared to all devices on the same home network.

  • Verify that the same Apple ID account is set for Home Sharing; it should match between the Mac and for the Apple TV box. When activating Home Sharing on the Mac, it will ask for a Home Sharing Apple ID. On the Apple TV box, in Settings﹥Users and Accounts﹥[Default User]﹥[ᴀᴘᴘʟᴇ ɪᴅ] Home Sharing﹥, it also asks for a Home Sharing Apple ID.
  • Have you tried a force-quit and relaunch of the Computers app?
  • Have you tried a restart of the Apple TV box?
  • Is the Apple TV box up-to-date for tvOS system software? Please update if available.

I don’t know of a different reason why this would be happening, given what you have already told.

If the issue persists, and unless someone else chimes in with a new idea, I would suggest to contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).
