Edit the order of favorite contacts in the Phone app

Yes you can edit the list to move the favorite contacts UP or DOWN in the list.

Open the Favorites list in the Phone app. Tap on EDIT at Top Left. Here, you will see all your listed favorite contacts with three Dashes to the right of them. Select a contact to be moved and then Touch and Drag by the Dashes to the desired position.

Time of Contact Order Change:

Was this intermittent (occurring without notice)? Or did it occur while you were using it(i.e. editing it)? It may be a glitch if it occurred intermittently.

Do your Part: Report this issue to Apple. These are user-to-user forums. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. So, report this to apple yourself, to spread the word. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what issues are abroad and what fixes to include in updates to come.

2. Select: "But Report" for the "Feedback Type"
3. Comment: on when you came across this issue, and how you have troubleshoot it thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
4. Proceed from there as necessary.
