iPhone 14 will not charge past 80%

I was having issues with the iPhone, not charging and becoming hot. I went to the genius bar at the store. The battery capacity was at 85% so we replaced the battery. The brand new battery is not charging either. What is the problem? Additionally the tech check the hardware and software and said they were no issues with the phone. I believe it is an app problem when they increase.

According to Apple:

iOS 13 and later use Optimized Battery Charging to slow the rate of battery aging by reducing the time that your iPhone spends fully charged.

Your iPhone uses on-device machine learning to understand your daily charging routine so that it can wait until you need to use your iPhone to finish charging past 80 percent.*

Optimized Battery Charging is active only when your iPhone predicts that it will be connected to a charger for a long period of time.

Your iPhone might get slightly warmer while it charges. To extend the lifespan of your battery, if the battery gets too warm, software might limit charging above 80 percent. Your iPhone will charge again when the temperature drops.

Try moving your iPhone and charger to a cooler location.

Also, According to Apple:

Optimized Battery Charging is on by default when you set up your iPhone

If you want to change your charging option:

  • With iPhone 14 models and earlier, go to Settings ➢ Battery ➢ Battery Health & Charging and turn off Optimized Battery Charging.

Expecting Apple to fix an issue which is not universal is an expectation which is unlikely to happen. I have absolutely no issues fully charging my iPhone and I have two iPhones. No one I know is having an issue fully charging their iPhone. You need to figure out the issue on your phone, not wait for some magical, not likely coming fix from Apple.

First, go to Settings > Battery > Charging Optimization and see if 80% limit is checked.
