One of my AirPod dies fast

My right AirPod dies fast when it says it’s fully charged it dies after having it on my ear for less than 5 minutes why?

One AirPod quit working I've had my AirPods for 2.5yrs and my right AirPod just stopped working. The charging case shows the AirPod is charged, but there's no life to it. I haven't damaged it or anything, so not sure why it quit working.
