What does 'Filter Failed' message mean on MacBook Pro?

Using MacBook Pro Monterey 12.7.5.

What, exactly, does the message 'Filter' failed mean and how do you correct it?

My printer is working fine and although I reinstalled it, it installed perfectly fine.

The Filter has something to do with the computer.

I restarted, shut down, turned the wifi off and on again and the printer dialog box still says 'Filter' failed.

Do I need a new computer?

That printer does not require drivers. I suggest adding it to Printers & Scanners as an AirPrint printer:

You must explicitly choose AirPrint.

It means the printer driver is not working.

Do I need a new computer?

No, that certainly won't help. What kind of printer is it? Exact manufacturer name and complete model designation please.
