No noise cancellation when connected to older car stereo via Bleutooth

So I have read how many people have Bluetooth connectivity issues when connecting to older car radios. I am having issues as well but I don't think I am losing my connection.

Symtoms are as follows:

-It started off with occasional calls sounding like gibberish to the person I was talking to when I was in my 2015 Buick Enclave with a radio that has Bluetooth 5.0.

-After updating to iOS 17.5.1 it now sounds like I am in the bathroom and there is an enormous amount of wind. There's so much wind it's hard for some people to understand me. It's almost like there's no noise reduction happening. More like noise amplification. Several of the test calls were done in my driveway or work parking lot where it was quiet and there was no external noise at all.

-I ruled out having microphone or radio issues by having a manager from a local Buick dealership pair up to my radio, make a call, and go for a drive and it was crystal clear. Thus proving there's nothing wrong with the vehicles equipment.

-While making test calls from my parking lot, I noticed my cellular signal was bouncing around from 3G, LTE and 5G. As soon as I turned off Bluetooth on my iPhone 15 Pro, I had a nice strong 5G signal strength and it remains stable. As soon as I turn on Bluetooth, the cellular connection starts changes from 5G to LTE/3G.

What is my next step? I am ready to ask for a replacement phone as per the article on MacRumors.

Unless the person at the dealership had the exact same model phone running the exact same version of ios with the exact same carrier as you, the test they did wasn’t valid.

Have you tried your phone in another vehicle?

Should we assume you have an aftermarket head unit in your car? The Bluetooth 5.0 specification wasn’t finalized until December of 2016 and the first device that supported Bluetooth 5.0 connections wasn’t released until February of 2017 by Sony.

So my wife paired up her iPhone 15 Pro Max (bought the same day I bought my iPhone 15) with my 2015 Buick Enclave, called me and she had the same experience as I do when I am in the vehicle. It was noisy, with plenty of wind noise and what sounds like a train going by.

When she calls me from her 2016 Nissan Rogue, it's crystal clear and not a drop of noise. I drove her Nissan several times but forgot to pair up my phone and make some calls.

But to summarize, her iPhone 15 in her Nissan is crystal clear, when she's in my Buick, it sounds super noisy like there's no noise cancellation at all.
