a cordial greeting and human hug to the community and team of apple company crew to begin with, my name is Camilo and today I feel frustrated because my macbook pro mid 2012 does not allow me to download macOS Big Sur and does not let me update and use some apps that I need for the design, research and realization of my studies and music career since I do not have money to buy another macbook

HELP ME FINISH MY STUDIES I JUST ASK FOR AN UPDATE OF THE MACOS ON MY MACBOOK PRO MID 2012

You're not speaking to Apple here, just to other Apple users.

We can't change the fact that all of the Mid 2012 Macbook Pros are computers with designs that are 12 years old, and that none of them support any version of macOS higher than macOS 10.15.7 (Catalina). All of those machines originally shipped with Mac OS X 10.7.4 (Lion), so Apple supported the designs through nine major versions of the OS.

We cannot fund the purchase of your next computer, or give you an update to something higher than Catalina on your current one. You must decide whether to live with the limits of the computer you have, or to save up to get a newer one.

Catalina is enough to let you run the current versions of

These are all free and so would fit within your limited budget.

There are also some commercial applications that will run on Catalina, even though the current ones from Adobe and Microsoft won't.

Time to Upgrade:

Apple typically gives seven years of compatibility, as do many other Developers. Your software and Mac are incompatible with one another. So, take this as a good reason to upgrade to a newer device.

Transferring to a New Mac:

A. Transfer Items Manually.

You'd export items to an external drive, and then import it to the new Mac.

Or...

B. Import, then Delete:

Other than manually transferring they, you do so the traditional way: Use Migration Assistant to back up your Mac with a Time Machine Backup, and then import items as a whole. Once imported, delete as desired. Once all is created, create a Time Machine Backup for your new Mac.
