Organizing Albums for Photos

On an iPone and iPad it helps a lot to organize the albums with nested folders. When we keep related albums in an enclosing folder we can easily find the albums by opening the folder and do not have to scroll a long list of albums. The folders can be nested.

You could for example have a folder called "Vacations" and inside subfolders with the albums for each vacation. I am putting no more than ten albums into each folder, so I can see at a glance the albums inside without having to scroll the list of albums.

We have to plan the folder structure and create it before we create our albums, however. It is not possible to move existing albums into a different folder on an iPhone or iPad. We have to create the albums inside the folder where we want them to be. So it will save a lot of work to design our folder structure in advance.

Lots of things, like sorting albums, are way easier on Mac Photos, and then that organization on the Mac is mirrored to the iPhone. Those features sometimes find their way onto the iPhone and iOS directly, but it's hard to tell which ones and when. You can let Apple know what's important to you here:
