A few years back, I purchased mad Max fury Road with the chrome edition as an extra through the Apple TV box. I still have that Apple TV box on another television set, but on my main television set, I use the Apple TV app embedded in the smart TV.
however, on the Apple TV app in the Smart TV, which is a Sony Bravia 85 inch less than a year old there is no option for watching the chrome version of fury Road. How can I get that option back?

iTunes Extras aren't available in the Apple TV app on smart TVs and [third party] streaming devices.
I think AirPlay is still supported for it though, if your TV is AirPlay-enabled.

iTunes Extras are usually available from within the title, or during playback through the overlay controls. Not sure if this ‘Chrome’ version is/was included as iTunes Extra, but your initial post suggests that.
On iPhone, you may need to hold it sideways/horizontally (full screen), for it to show the Extras menu, among the overlay controls.
AirPlay was a good suggestion but even on my iPhone in “movies” although it says iTunes Extras under the title there is no chrome version option.
