Formula 1 section missing from Apple TV app on iPad

It is possible that your old iPadOS means you also have an old version of the Apple TV app. If so, I don't have an iPad that matches it to test, so we'll have to hope yours is fairly similar to the current version on my iPad Pro M4 with iPadOS 26.4. I cannot recall 17.x specifically.

If you don't have a left sidebar, do you have a top bar with icons and text? Look for a "Home" item to get to the Home Screen, or a "<" item at the left to scroll the top bar to the left, or an icon that looks like an old TV set (rectangle with dots inside the left edge) to switch from the top bar to the left sidebar. (They might look different in an older version of the Apple TV app.)

Apologies. I misread "neither the Home Screen section or the left menu items are shown" and thought you had the whole sidebar hidden.

While the Apple TV app appears in the App Store app, it lacks the usual "What's New?" section, so there is no trail of updates available, and it is unlikely that you will find an update there. Updates come only with system (iPadOS in this case) updates.

Based on when Apple introduced the Formula 1 section of Apple TV, it probably came with some 18.x version of iPadOS.

Due to licensing, Apple's F1 coverage is only available within the US to users that also have a US-based Apple Account.
