Watching downloaded movies from iPad on tv on RV trip without Wi-Fi.

I am attempting to watch my downloaded movies from my iPad by connecting through HDMI with adapter that is HDMI to lightening adapter. It will let me see the iPad screen but when it comes to playing a movie it just circles and won’t play. I am leaving for camping trip with the grandgirls and would like to be able to watch downloaded movies with them. I have Vudu/Fandango (Purchased videos), Disney, Max, and Peacock if that helps.

Cost has little to do with whether or not the Adapter supports HDCP - although, cheaper Adapters are perhaps less likely to provide this support.

Before buying, check the specifications; if HDCP is not explicitly stated, assume that it has no support.

The Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter does support HDCP:

Your downloaded movies are almost certainly protected by HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection).

Assuming that you are attempting to directly connect your iPad to your TV with a cable - to view HDCP protected content using an HDMI connection, both your TV and HDMI Adapter must also support HDCP. If not, you will only see a blank screen.

Are you using an Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter - or something else?

While the Apple Lightning to Digital AV Adapter does support HDCP, other third-party Adapters might not support this protocol.
