MAC Error -1005F

The error code -1005F is associated with connectivity issues on Apple devices, specifically when trying to use Internet Recovery mode. This mode allows you to reinstall the macOS operating system over the internet.

There are a couple of reasons why you might encounter this error:

Unstable internet connection: The most common reason is an unstable or weak internet connection. Internet Recovery mode needs to download a large file, and if the connection keeps dropping or is too slow, it will fail.

Incompatible network: The Wi-Fi network you are trying to connect to might have security settings that are not compatible with Internet Recovery mode. For instance, some enterprise or public Wi-Fi networks may not work.

Here are some things you can try to fix the -1005F error:

Check your internet connection: Make sure you have a strong and stable Wi-Fi signal or wired connection.

Restart your device: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches that might be causing the problem.

Use a wired connection: If possible, try connecting your Mac to the internet using an ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. This will provide a more stable connection.

Try a different Wi-Fi network: If you are on a public Wi-Fi network or a network with complex security settings, try connecting to a different network that you know is reliable.

• Error -1005F means that the Internet connection you are using for Internet Recovery is not suitable. I tested three and the two WPA2 wireless networks worked fine but the WiFI transmitted by my phone did not work.
