Swapping Phone without any info lost

I have an iPhone 13 and want to swap a phone with my mum which is a 15 Pro, so how do I do it? Do I back up my files and everything and then erase phone data?

Mum or you need to do the following on the iPhone 15. This assumes that you do not need any of the data on the iPhone 15.


What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Then back up your iPhone 13 to iCloud, a Mac or PC and use the backup to restore to the iPhone 15 when it is being set up again. You can also use Quick Start to move data directly from the iPhone 13 to the iPhone 15.


I'm not clear on your plans with the iPhone 13. If you won't be using it in the future then follow these instructions:
