Burn Audiobook from Pages to CD

My kiddo likes to listen to music and audiobooks but is too young for access to a streaming service so I want to burn some CDs for them.

There seems to be no easily identifiable way to burn an audiobook from Pages app to a CD.

Nor is there an easily identifiable way to import a file from Pages to iMusic so I can burn the CD from there.

How can I burn an audiobook from Pages to a CD?

The Pages format is M4B - The CD format is WAV.

Cheers.

When I attempt to drag and drop an M4B audiobook onto Pages v14 on Sonoma 14.5, Pages rejects it as it cannot be converted to a compatible audio format. However, Apple Books will open and play an M4B audiobook. That is the correct tool, so if you use the following link and consolidate your audiobooks, you should be able to burn them to CD or DVD.

I understand feeling frustrated with Apple's proprietary systems. I know I am. But being combative with people who are trying to answer your question is not helpful.

As stated, your original question was about Pages... we have established that Pages is a word processing program and not what you meant.

Assuming you meant Books, then the answer has been given... you cannot convert an M4B file to a WAV file because of the aforementioned Apple proprietary BS. So the unfortunate answer is that you will not be able to burn that CD for your kiddo to play in a CD player.

The only thing I can think of is to take the time and find the sustained quiet to record a WAV file as you play the audiobook through Apple Books. Then you can burn that WAV file to a CD. But that's definitely a pain in the butt.

Sorry the answer isn't what you wanted to hear, but I do believe your actual question has been fully answered.

Why is this so hard?

If this is an audiobook you have purchased through Apple's Books app? If so, I believe they are protected by DRM and can't be converted to a WAV file.

Also, your mention of Pages in the first post really confused things as Pages is a word-processing program and has almost nothing to do with audio files. So, give people a bit of grace. And, remember that everyone here is a volunteer. Being rude to people who misunderstand your question doesn't really inspire them (or anyone else) to try harder to help you.
