App store missing from child's phone even though it's "allowed"

No. They are not able to help. Evidently all developers are working on the next operating system and not on fixing issues like this one with the current operating system. I spoke with 2 senior technicians at different times. Very disappointing.

I am having the same issue.

App Store will only appear if I disable all Content Restrictions.

If I set Allow for Install App, the App Store appears for a 1-2 seconds and then disappears.

I have logged a case with Apple for them to investigate.

Will update the thread if I have an update.

I want to manage App Store access on my childs devices, and sometimes I have to enable it to update apps. When I allow app store access through the management parental control feature, the app store appear just fine on the iPhone, but on the iPad the icon appear for 2 seconds before it is gone again. How come it work on one device, and not the other is mind buggin.

We use a dedicated Apple ID for my childs devices.

Very buggy experience, and far from the "It just works" that used to be the Apple trademark.

I’ve spent HOURS on this. I’m over here trying to model to my kids how to regulate themselves, but I’m about to throw this iPad in the trash from the frustration and tears this caused before I found this thread.

This works!! I tried sooo many other things over the course of several months and nothing worked. I even reset the entire iPad to factory settings deleting all data and Apple ID etc and that didn’t work. Only this worked! And we have two other kids with iPads with identical parental controls and didn’t have any issues with their App Store not showing so we were so confused. This is the only thing that worked. I love Apple but the family sharing and parental controls are just finicky and complicated sometimes. We have had enough issues for it to be extremely frustrating at times. So glad to be out of this storm though. Thank you for the suggestion!!

THIS FIXED IT. And like other posters said, this doesn't erase all your restrictions you've set, which is why I was afraid to press the Stop Managing Screen Time button. Thank you! Annoying glitch Apple. Need to fix this!!!!

This is the exact same issue i am experiencing. One day we noticed that on the iPhone 11 Pro my son uses, screen time wasn't reporting properly. We set it up from scratch again and now this exact behavior happens. If i restrict content, the App Store appears for a moment just to disappear again.

Allowing installs and everything App Store related doesn't help at all.

I have to remove all content restrictions. If an app has got an update (like Brawl Stars right now) nothing happens...

Super annoying and i would have expected better from a company this big and tech savy.

Every time I completely “turn off” the button to manage my child’s screen time, it is reset to factory privacy settings when I turn it back on. I then have to REMEMBER each level of safety I had for that child. (This is incredibly frustrating as it should turn back on exactly what it had been set at, and if anything, Apple should ADD A BUTTON to reset the privacy settings…not make us re-enter every single thing.)

Same issue here. I did notice that when I change the setting under her screen time the App Store shows up for one second then disappears. Also not accessible from the App Library.

Did you get a resolution to this? I’m having the same problem.

I am having this same issue and really do not want to have to create a whole new apple id or turn off parental settings completely just to get passed this issue. Apple please fix this cliche asap!

Yes same thing is happening with mine. Hopefully Apple fixes this glitch asap.

After you re-added them to screen time did the app store still show? If I re-add my child and turn off the app store, the next time I turn it on I see the same issue

Yes, the app store came back immediately. If you turn off the app store, it's going to disappear.

Yes I did that. It worked for about 10 minutes, then the App Store vanished again. The same problem occurred again.
