Come on APPLE! I turned on icloud back up on my imac then a few minutes later turned it off because I didn't need it and APPLE lost all my files! I want them back! I just bought a $3500 macbook pro. I'm getting tired of you over reaching over controlling ways. Give me back my WORK files!

So glad you asked. I did find them. Apple put them in an archive folder on my machine. I have a university computer so there are multiple user for admin access. So dumb. Why would they do that? And of course you have to turn on the home folder in the sidebar to find it in the finder. So, I'm getting all my files off this piece of junk into microsoft cloud! LOL. Like that's any better. Got a new MB Pro M3Pro, so that's pretty cool. Brag! Have a good one there Ikrupp! You're welcome.

Contaft Apple right away, they get into your pc or Mac and show you what ever you need help with.

You didn't turn on icloud backup on a MAC, you can only backup phone/ipad to icloud.
You enable syncing to icloud without knowing how it works.
Did you have TimeMachine or some other back up app backing up your data?

I'm a filmmaker so I've used apple from the beginning because they had FCP. I do like them. It's just they are getting too greedy like all the other companies. Thanks for you well wishes. Same to you. I just got new 16 mbp w/m3 pro. it's pretty cool. This imac I have been using is a dog! so, glad to get rid of it.

If people hate Apple so much, why do people keep buying their device. I have run a MBP of some sort since 2007 after leaving the PC scene. I now have two MBP's, two iPhones, two iPads and a Apple TV.
So have you found your desktop files yet? After all you’ve been “using Apple” longer than we’ve been alive and should know the ins and outs of macOS, right?
