Mac Keyboard with Backlight and TouchID?

I have the Magic Keyboard with TouchID but even for its expensive price tag, it doesn't have backlighting. Why doesn't apple incorporate this? Are there any other products that would have both touchID and backlighting?

I wanted to give feedback here (Product Feedback - Apple) but ironically out of all the products listed, including Magic Mouse, the keyboard or a general accessory category is just not there. I guess Apple believes they have perfected keyboards?

I work late nights, and its frustrating to have this feature on my literal battery-powered macbook, but not on my always-plugged in Magic Keyboard.
