Converting .pages to .docx and gmail

When I make an invoice in .pages format and export and convert it to word and attach to gmail - it often superimposes text from the bottom of the original .pages document to the wording at the top of the .docx document - is there anything to be done to try to ensure that the .pages document is presented in a faultless way for conversion to .docx ? I have used the pages break/line break facility in .pages but it seems not to be able to stop the issue occurring when translated into a .docx document - I also tried to save a pristine non-superimposed copy in .docx on my iPad in the documents folder prior to sending on Gmail but when I open the .docx attachment on the actual email the same issue persists

What you describe, I have never seen occur in years of using Pages to Word docx conversions. Of course, Apple does not guarantee the accuracy of the conversion of the Pages document content into the exported Word document format. The Pages conversion process is a black box that you have no control over beyond how you format content in the Pages document.

I would start by inspecting what you are doing with the text in Pages that is superimposed at the top of the Word document. It appears to be Pages document-centric since both Mac and iPad versions of Pages can reproduce it.

If you are regularly exporting Pages content to Word for consumption by Word users, you may consider purchasing Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 for Mac so that you are always working in the Word native document format without dealing with translated content from Pages.
