Want to share Apple Maps ETA with the actual route I am taking
I want to turn off the option of sharing ETA via sms and change it so it shares my actual route. Some contacts are SMS and some are the actual map.

If the recipient is not an iMessage user, you can’t share the actual route with them.
To confirm, your iPhone sends SMS messages (Green Bubble) to iPhones as well. Is that correct? NOTE: iMessages only work between iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices.
Open Settings ➡️ Messages ➡️ iMessage: Ensure that this switch is set to ON.
Try sending a message to someone who has an iPhone with iMessages activated.
If you are having difficulty then review this guide 👉 If you can’t turn on or sign in to iMessage or FaceTime on your iPhone

Can you confirm that the contacts that have the option of SMS only are non-iPhone users and therefore do not have Apple Maps to see your location on a map? The iPhone users on your contact list should have the ETA via the Maps app.

Hi, the main person I want share to is an iPhone user. When she shares with me it comes up in my maps
Does that person have iMessages setup successfully and use it?
Axel F.
Hi, yes, we both have iMessage setup successfully
Having looked at settings again I have iMessage selected but it does not send any of my messages in iMessage just sms 🤷🏻♂️
