Set up new Apple TV. The remote can now control the volume and turn off the TV but won’t turn it on. It turns on the Apple TV box but then I still have to use the normal LG TV remote to turn the TV on. Control TV and Receivers is on.
Verify that your TV has CEC turned on in its settings as well. LG may name it ‘SimpLink’ in their menus and documentation, though.

Connect the HDMI cable from the Apple TV to the HDMI CEC port on your TV. Your TV probably has multiple HDMI ports but typically only one is labeled HDMI CEC.
