Year warranty for refurbished phones

I was wondering if a year warranty is up for that phone and you purchase it refurbished from the company does the year warranty start over for that phone or like how does that work I seen something about providing proof of purchase or something but I’m not sure if it helps with repairs

If purchased as a refurbished unit from Apple, the device will have a one year warranty, that starts on the date you purchased that refurbished unit. If the refurbished unit is purchased from a retailer other than Apple, you would need to contact them for warranty details.
