This started when I copied and pasted text from a webpage. If I want to add text it continues to display in this manner. No more than 3 characters per line all justified left on the page. How to I change it so that I can type horizontally on the page?

Have you copied from (or pasted to) a table with a narrow column?
Make the column wider:
