Sunlight and iPad air

Hi folks I love my apple devises but fine if I won’t to sit outside in the sun then I can’t see my screen on my ipad. I have try altering settings that didn’t work, switching it from landscape to portrait and purchased a mat screen cover but none of these things have worked. Doh.

can anyone advise if there is a work around? I love my iPad the screen is amazing when in doors but I wonted to watch tv /stream while sitting outside. Seems like this is just a dream that won’t come true. Thanks for any advise

All backlit LCD displays can be a challenge to see when used in very bright ambient lighting conditions - in particular when used outdoors or in bright sunlight. Assuming that if your iPad is operating at its maximum screen brightness, you have limited options.

Consider shading the screen - or moving to a shadier location. You should note that when being used in sunshine, the iPad internal temperature can soar, resulting in the screen brightness being automatically reduced to reduce heating.

Alternative strategies are to replace your current iPad with a model that has a brighter screen - such as those that feature a miniLED backlit (iPads Air M2 and fifth generation iPad Pro 12.9") or OLED display (iPads Pro M4), that are capable of much higher screen brightness.
