Using logic pro for iPad with an external control surface

I would like to use my mixer (Tascam Model 12) as a control surface for Logic Pro on my iPad. It is set to control Logic and it shows up as a MIDI input in Logic. But it can’t control anything.

It appears to me that, with a very few exceptions in the Sculpture synth, there is no support for external controls and no MIDI learn either.

Has anyone been successful in making this work?

Does anyone else think this is a miss??

Mackie MCU and Logic Pro iPad? Logic Pro instantly saw my Behringer X Touch controller’s two channels when I plugged it into the USB hub connected to my 2018 iPad Pro. App Settings -> MIDI -> In/Out offered the option to turn on or off these two channels. However, the X Touch didn’t “connect” and display track names or move its faders to match the Logic Pro track fader positions. My conclusion: Mackie MCU isn’t currently supported by Logic Pro iPad. Am I wrong?
