Suddenly unable to receive 2 factor verification codes via text message or text with Android users

For the past 2 weeks I haven't been receiving 2 factor verification codes via text messages on my 12 Pro Max iPhone. I'm also unable to text with Android users, or be on group texts if anyone has an Adroid. This happened suddenly, with nothing changing on my end. I have spent hours following all of the troubleshooting advice and still am unable to get it to work. I have toggled things on and off, rebooted, and checked to be sure I have SMS on, etc. After following the directions on multiple articles I am at a dead end.

Thank you. It didn't enter my mind it was a carrier issue. When I've had issues a couple times before with messages from Android users I was able to follow the suggestions commonly suggested online and get things back on track.As I mentioned, this time it simply wasn't happening. I should have thought about the fact it was also verification codes and not just Android users.

I just got off the phone with my carrier. They did several checks and within 20 minutes I was back in business. 43 texts came pinging through. I asked the representative what the issue had been and this was her response, "I am not seeing any blocks or errors. I just refreshed the service and reconnected the device to the network."

I am still confused by what happened and why it suddenly popped up as an issue, but am glad to have it figured out. Thanks for your reply---it was very helpful!

SMS/MMS is your phone carrier feature, report the issue to them so they can fix it for you.
