Delete not in use email tied to an Apple ID

Bought an Apple Watch. When trying to set up, it shows an old Apple ID that is no longer in use. It’s an email that is no longer in use at all, cannot access it whatsoever.

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Even if the ID is no longer in use you will need the information to remove it from the Watch. Get the previous owner to do as in this article: Before you buy, sell, give away, or trade in - Apple Support

This support article has information about Activation Lock on your Apple Watch and how to turn it off. --> About Activation Lock on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

As you can see from that article, you need the information or the original receipt to prove to Apple you are now the rightful owner.

Apple can completely reset a device if a person can provide sufficient evidence of valid ownership. Do this online at: Activation Lock support request - https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Apple says, "Proof of ownership documentation is required," but does not state what currently constitutes proof. Prior to this new online service Apple typically required the original receipt issued by an Apple Authorized dealer and documented provenance (so typically it would be the original owner who does this, or a descendant with legal proof of ownership). Apple recommends you keep your receipt after you buy an Apple device. --> Keep your receipt after you buy an Apple device - Apple Support

If you cannot do either of those, submit the Watch for recycling. You may have purchased stolen property.

From the very bottom of Apple Trade In - Apple :

"Does Apple offer recycling?

Yes. Apple Trade In lets you recycle any Apple device (including devices from Apple-owned brands) at any Apple Store and on Apple for free. That includes your batteries and old electronic products as well as free, on-demand packaging recycling for our commercial, education, and institutional customers. When we receive your device, it will be thoroughly inspected to determine if components can be recycled or reused. Whether recycled or reused, all activities relating to the processing of your device will be managed in an environmentally responsible way."
