Need to move my email icon on the home screen to permanent task bar

I accidentally swiped my email icon from the taskbar iPad screen. It was convenient because it was always there, and now I have to go hunt for it and open it back up again. How can I get that email icon back to the taskbar?

Thank you.

If you mean the Dock when referring to "taskbar," Move apps and create folders on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch states:

How to organize your apps

  1. Touch and hold any app on the screen, then tap Edit Home Screen.
  2. Drag the app to another spot, like the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
  3. On iPhone X and later, tap Done to save. On iPhone 8 and earlier, press the Home button.
