MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) freezing, restarting Kernal panic

Hi, my MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) is freezing lately a lot. I updated everything but the issues keeps happening. Would else can I do?

Looks like you have an SSD that is failing since there are a couple of Kernel Panics which mention "Could not recover SATA HDD after 5 attempts. Terminating". It is only a matter of time before the SSD will most likely completely fail. Like @BDAqua mentions, I hope you have good backups because you are going to need them.


FYI, I also see you have Avast installed. When you get your new laptop, there is no need to install any anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, or third party security software. Those types of apps usually cause more problems than they solve since they interfere with the normal operation of macOS. You may want to review this excellent article written by a respected forum contributor on good computing practices to keep your devices running smoothly & keeping both you & your devices safe:

I guess you could try uninstalling Avast by following the developer's instructions just on the off chance Avast was somehow interfering with the SSD, but more than likely the SSD has a hardware failure that will only get worse & may suddenly disappear completely.
