Siri won't stop a timer (but will start it)

If the timer is already going off you have to manually dismiss it. At that point in time there is no timer set to go off.

Try turning off "Hey Siri" and compare your results manually activating SIRI.

no insight A SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies.

Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
