Mail Mac storage overload

My mail Mac account is taking 31 GB of hard drive storage on my mail MacBook Pro. How do I delete old emails and the it attachments in bulk?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

delete emails...? and empty the Mail trashcan.

Command A will select all

Holding the Shift key selects everything in between your first and last selection— to delete in batches.

Add and remove email accounts on iPhone - Apple Support

if you Control click on a selected email account you can see itemized list of mail box sizes:

remove attachments.. use the Mail>Help window

there was an old issue...pre-Big Sur

If you are collecting Mail trouble shooting logs check there...

From Mail>Window>Connection Doctor

uncheck the Log Connection Activity

From Mail>Window>Connection Doctor>Show Logs

in Finder, you can see if you have large .txt files there; you can safely delete these .txt files

I have seen anywhere from 12 GB to 700 GB of logs built up here.

You would be safe to delete all those logs/ .txt files.
