One particular streaming app suddenly not working on my Apple TV 4K device

I have been using the MSNBC app on my Apple TV 4K for years and all of a sudden recently, no content loads. It starts with a spinning gear and the word "loading" and then after maybe a minute or so, turns to a blank gray screen. I have tried checking for updates for the Apple TV app and also deleting and re-adding this particular MSNBC streaming app, all to no avail !

Hoping someone can help,

—Michael T.

The use of this network TV app requires authentication through your TV provider plan. That is done between them. If that errors, then one of them will have to fix this.

I have been having the same problem on and off for over a year (it’s occasional but often enough to be annoying). Others have been posting about it too. I’m convinced the problem is on NBC’s end. It’s only MSNBC, even when accessing via the NBCNews app instead of the MSNBC app (NBC News stream works fine). I am logged in via provider and all other apps that I authenticate myself with that way work fine. iOS is up to date as is the app. I’ve tried everything: rebooting, reloading apps, etc. Plus I have two AppleTV devices and when it’s a problem on one it’s a problem on both. How could the problem not be on NBC’s end?
