Clicked the buy button on Minecraft to see if there was a tax, but it just downloaded the game. I have no money in my account, and it doesn't show a negative balance. I've already requested a refund, so will I be good to go?

It may take a couple of days before a pending charged is actually processed. Just requesting a refund will not resolve it. The request will either be approved or denied. If the request is denied and you still owe money, then you will be prevented from using the App Store until a valid payment method is added and then that previous charge will be deducted.
