Pop up voice message from “Apple”

I got a voice message from “Apple Support” suddenly while I was using Safari which said “Your computer is locked up. Please call this number”, and the phone number was displayed with the Apple logo. I tried to exit, but when I clicked to “exit”, it opened more windows with no exit buttons. Is this really from Apple?

I wonder if my MacBook was hacked.

It's a scam. Force quit the browser. You were not 'hacked'.

Scammers love to lie, and claim that your computer/tablet/phone has been "hacked", even if they have not got the faintest clue of how to hack it.

What they are trying to do is to hack you – to frighten you into acting in panic, without thinking clearly, so that you deliver yourself into their "tender", "loving", criminal hands. They figure the person sitting in front of the computer is a softer target than the computer itself.
