Output sound volume adjustment for external audio doesn't work.

Hello, guys!

Can't adjust master sound volume level for an external audio device of MSI MAG 491C display connected via DPAlt (USB-C DP) with TB4 cable (not original) to my M1 Macbook. Monitor contains 3.5" jack and appropriate digital-analog audio device available via DP for a MacBook mentioned above.

Audio works just fine - except no master volume control in macOS at all! Bar is just grayed out at maximum both in upper menu and system settings menu and keyboard volume control. Keyboard volume control also doesn't work, too. Volume is always at maximum.

Local volume controls in specific apps work fine (I can adjust separately volume for YouTube window and CLC app, for example). Yet it's the MASTER volume control that does not! Volume control for this not available nor in upper menu, nor in System Setting/Sound nor via keyboard! (See attach pics)

Can someone please give a clue why volume control isn't available for macOS?

PS My PC (Win 11 Pro) connected to this very same display via DP adjusts master volume for this output device purrfectly fine. While MacBook does not. So it doesn't look like a hardware prob.

that is likely a result of the connected device's control. some audio outputs are controlled by the device. some are controlled by the Mac. and some can be adjusted at both ends. for example, my headphones can be controlled at both ends. but my connected TV shows the volume as "maxed out" on the Mac end, and can only be adjusted with the TV's volume controls.
