Apple Mail 11.5 stopped getting mail from ATT.NET/Yahoo

During the prior week, got two emails from AT&T saying email would stop on June 12 unless I verified my email address. Did that and got a verified status back. On June 12, email did stop on my Mac with Mail 11.5. IPhone with iOS 17.5.1 also stopped getting email. I have a legacy att.net email address so no help from AT&T. I found an earlier Community response that advised deleting the email account and adding it back by selecting Yahoo. This worked and I now get ATT.NET/Yahoo email but Connection Doctor on the Mac shows that mail logs out after each get mail and the green status never lights.

Mac's Mail App is not as modern as iOS's Mail app, Many eMail providers now require a separate App Password different from your eMail password…


Yahoo has gone to this too...
