Is there a way to prevent iCloud from blocking emails?

Every so often ICloud blocks emails on me. I cannot even check to see what they were. Some are ones I have sent to myself. I need to figure out what it is I am not receiving and why. I have never had these issues with gmail but do not like gmail. Please help.
