How do I download an image I have set as wallpaper on a iPad 2

I have a photo that is set as my lock screen image on my old iPad 2 and I want to download it.

There are no photos within the camera roll but it must be stored within the iPad in order for it to be displayed as the lock screen.

The photo is of a love one who is no longer with us and I had forgotten that I even had this image so it is extremely precious.

I have not tried to play around with the settings as I do not want to accidentally delete or corrupt it.

Can anyone help?

Take a screenshot of the wallpaper.

I suggested a screenshot because I believe that’s the best you can do since apparently you no longer have the original photo.

Yes, compromises are called for.

Even if this were true, there is absolutely no guarantee the stored image would ever be user accessible. Apple may well internalize its format, for example.

Hi sberman

Yes, that might work but as I say it is on the boot up lock screen and wouldn't it have the "Scroll to open text"

in the screen shot, and also I am not sure if a screen shot would be the same quality as the file I originally

uploaded to the iPad all those years ago.

While I understand what you are saying my point is that for that image to be displayed as a Wallpaper, it must be stored somewhere within the OS.

If so, there must be a way to extract it.
