Recording MIDI audio from Max into Logic

I'm trying to record MIDI audio (DLS Synth or OB-Xd 3) from Max 8.6.2 into Logic 11 on a MBP and can't find a tutorial. I've tried connecting Blackhole as an input device to an external MIDI track through the Max MIDI Setup (Logic Virtual Out, Max In) but to no avail. Suggestions?

There is no such thing as "MIDI audio". These are two different things.

• You need Blackhole to route Audio internally from one software to another.

• To route midi from Max to Logic, simply choose "from Max 1" as a midi out in Max. That's it. Select a Software Instrument Track in Logic. You don't even need to specify anything in Logic. It will play right away. You need to specify the midi inputs on a Logic track only when using several input sources at the same time.
