How to transfer iTunes library & playlists from Mac Mini to MacBook?

I want to transfer (export) my iTunes library & playlists from my old Mac Mini (macOS 10.13.6) to my not as old MacBook Pro (macOS 11.7.10).

There are only a dozen songs presently on my MacBook, and around 5 GB worth on my Mac Mini. Simplest way to do this? Thanks.

Thanks Neil. Are you saying to:

  1. Drag the "iTunes" folder in my User's folder on my Mini to an external drive (since no network)?
  2. Then plug that drive into my MacBook and
  3. open Music app with Option key held down, and this "iTunes" folder will magically appear for me to choose?
  4. Then select "import" from somewhere in this magical Option-iTunes place, and the content in my Mini "iTunes" folder will automatically appear in my MacBook iTunes/Music folder, and appearing in my Music app ready to play?

Well, I get as far as Opt-clicking Music on my Macbook and selecting the external HDD and then the previous copied "iTunes" folder that shows up. Then I click on "Choose" at the bottom of that window, but nothing happens. The "Choose" button is then greyed out. I see no way to "import." No button or menu.

Do I need to delete the original iTunes folder first, before trying to load this one? Thanks.
