I want to transfer (export) my iTunes library & playlists from my old Mac Mini (macOS 10.13.6) to my not as old MacBook Pro (macOS 11.7.10).
There are only a dozen songs presently on my MacBook, and around 5 GB worth on my Mac Mini. Simplest way to do this? Thanks.

Drag the entire library in the Finder through a network or external drive as desired, launch iTunes or Music with the Option key held down, choose that library, and then import the songs originally on the MacBook Pro to it.

Yes. Once you've opened the transferred library, the songs in the existing one will need to be put into it; this can also be done by dragging them into the application from the Finder.

Well, I get as far as Opt-clicking Music on my Macbook and selecting the external HDD and then the previous copied "iTunes" folder that shows up. Then I click on "Choose" at the bottom of that window, but nothing happens. The "Choose" button is then greyed out. I see no way to "import." No button or menu.
Do I need to delete the original iTunes folder first, before trying to load this one? Thanks.
