Ping your iPhone LED not working

The ability to long press on the 'ping my iPhone' button and the iPhone use to ping and the LED lights flash. The feature used to work for me before but it doesn’t anymore. Has Apple removed that feature? Am I the only one experiencing this? My iPhone pings but the LED never flashes. Does anyone have a solution to this?
